Become a Registered SkyWarn UK OT Spotter

We rely on our network of registered spotters. Can you help? Heres how:

  • Complete the contact form with your details. Be sure to include your name, email address, and country as a minimum. Don't worry, we promise not to sell or pass on your details to any 3rd party without your express consent. (See our 'Privacy Policy')
  • Once your details have been received we will send you a welcome pack via email. This includes your 'Certificate of Membership', a copy of our Code of Conduct and Ethics, and a copy of our quarterly newsletter, amongst other things.
  • We will issue alerts whenever a (sub)tropical cyclone threatens any UK overseas territory. If this includes your area this will be a sign for you to observe and report on the impacts in your locality.
  • Reports can be sent to us via email.

SkyWarn UK OT Spotter Training Program

SkyWarn UK OT is working to establish basic spotter training for our overseas members.

The program will consist of 2 parts - the 'Spotter Training Presentation' and the 'Spotter Test'. The presentation will cover spotter basics, advice on positioning, tropical cyclone climatology and hazards, and safety. Following the presentation, a simple test will need to be completed before you can become a registered SkyWarn UK OT spotter. All those who join before the training program is launched will be requested to undertake the basic training and pass the simple test in order to remain a registered SkyWarn spotter.
