SkywarnUk Alert for Severe Thunderstorms.
SkywarnUK has issued an alert for severe thunderstorms. Criteria which may breach include rainfall in excess of 20mm and, hail and possible tornadoes.
A plume of warm, moist air will be drawn up from the continent resulting in heavy showers that could develop into more organised thunderstorms with intense downpours resulting in localised flooding.
Although storms could occur just about anywhere the main area for the alert is for the southeast of England and will, due to the risk of localised flooding, run from 0800hrs Wednesday 22nd June until 2359hrs Monday 27th June.
